What is Spiritual Companioning?
The word "companion" literally means to share bread with. For centuries, fervent hearts have been seeking guidance from a wisdom figure for an encounter with the Divine Presence. Such seekers would hope to gain insight by working to unpack some deeply held beliefs and to ponder those persistent questions that arise along life's journey. Spiritual Companioning offers the tremendous blessing of being affirmed while holding life's yet-transforming mysteries in a slow and trusting tension as they evolve and unfold.

The guide or director's task is to create sacred space that allows for open and honest sharing that leads to growth on the spiritual journey. Together, both the seeker and the guide avail themselves to the summons of deeper descent into the Divine life. Both are fed. Both find peace.

My Story
Hello, my name is Dan Frachey. As a spiritual guide, I believe and celebrate how all things in life are connected. To companion others on the spiritual journey is a source of deep gladness! I revel in seeing deeply into all that is happening in one's life. To help me hone this practice in service to others, I attended the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis and obtained my Masters in Pastoral Studies before moving on to receive my Certificate in Spiritual Direction in 2010. When the Chiara Center was closed, where I had served as Program Director, I prayerfully considered where I might go from there. Flowing from this beloved ministry in spiritual companioning, I began Legacy Weavers Video in August of 2021.

Even as I savor my Catholic Christian identity, I honor how Divine Love is present in all those seek after what is true, good and beautiful in life. I am steeped in Franciscan spirituality that celebrates the interconnection of all things through the pleasure of the Universal Christ. I am a highly visual person who receives images that flow from the Hebrew/Christian scriptures & tradition as well as through present culture and through the beauty of creation.

about Spiritual Companioning
What are your fees?
As spiritual companioning is a ministry, it honors the time commitment and dedication of the guide. Fees are negotiable based on the seeker's financial situation, although the average hourly fee is $60.00
How often do we meet?
The frequency of meeting is up to the seeker but is optimal when meeting regularly, whether monthly or quarterly. It is important that spiritual companioning be more than the occasional chance to problem-solve, just as any friendship needs a healthy balance of interactions.
What do we talk about?
To be clear, spiritual companioning is not counseling nor life coaching. In a spirit of momentary encounter and openness with Divine presence, the seeker brings forth whatever thoughts, experiences or questions that are emerging at the time of the session.
